Ryder is a 5 year old registered Scottish Highland bull with a proven show record, an impressive pedigree featuring National Western Stock Show genetics, three years of breeding history and has an exceptionally gentle disposition. He is halter trained, chute trained, trailer trained and calm enough to allow hoof trimming while lying down. He is also gentle enough that I can sit on him while he’s laying down. He’s equally comfortable with strangers and routinely approaches people for attention.
Ryder #62551 has been used successfully as a breeding bull for the past three years and has produced 17 calves — 10 heifers and 7 bull calves. There have been no calving difficulties with his offspring. Ryder’s offspring have also demonstrated the same people-friendly nature.
Born March 23, 2021, Ryder earned 2nd Place in his bull calf class at the prestigious 2022 National Western Stock Show.
Ryder’s pedigree brings together genetics from several highly respected highland breeding programs, including Trafalgar Square Farms, EZ Acres, Husker Show Cattle, Black Watch Farms, Flatheads Farms, Five Star Farms, and Skye High Farms.
His sire, Trafalgar Dimitri 15 (#55086), is by CBS Yaz’s Yukon Jack, the 2015 NWSS Grand Champion Bull, and out of EZ Acres Pauline, one of the breed’s most influential females and a multiple NWSS champion. Going another generation back, Dimitri’s paternal line includes HSC Rebel’s Jack, the 2012 NWSS Reserve Grand Champion Bull. Ryder’s dam, SFF Lenten Rose (#57399), brings together the Flatheads and Skye High programs.
